Audit Services

Meeting your Compliance obligations

An independent audit or inspection provides an objective report on your compliance status.

Compliance can mean many things in business, and we’re here when you need to demonstrate that you’re compliant with:

  • relevant laws and regulations,
  • internal policies and procedures, and
  • client standards or industry practices.

Audit Services

The objective of an audit is to assess the overall compliance and effectiveness of your management system, or specific parts of it. Audits generally fall within 3 categories:

  • First-party Audit: Generally known as an internal audit, performed within your organisation, using your internal auditor(s) or a trained auditor to conduct the audit on your behalf.

  • Second-party Audit: An audit performed to establish the compliance of an organisation’s management system against the proprietary requirements of another organisation. This may be an audit that you perform on your supplier or subcontractor, or an audit of your organisation by your customer.

  • Third-party Audit: An audit conducted by an independent body (typically a registrar) of a management system against the criteria of a specific standard, such as an ISO management system certification audit.

The integrity of the audit process relies on the independence of the auditor from the management system and processes under review, who can report objectively on the basis of observations against their compliance criteria. We can assist you with your internal audits, or to support you through external (second or third-party) audits.

Legislative Compliance Audits

With OHS / WHS legislation constantly changing, placing additional expectations on employers, it is essential that you are fully aware of your organisation’s WHS duties and obligations.

Employers (or Persons Conducting a Business or Undertaking – PCBU’s) are more under pressure than ever before to ensure that you’re not only aware of your work health and safety (WHS) risk exposures, but that you’re also taking responsibility for the health, safety and wellbeing of those impacted by the work that you do. This includes not only your employees, but other persons performing work in your workplaces (i.e. contractors), visitors and members of the public.

Speak with us about our health and safety audit services, including:

  • Regulatory compliance health checks, such as to the Western Australian Work Health and Safety Act (2020) and Work Health and Safety (General) Regulations 2022.
    • Audits of your business operations against your own WHS policies and processes.
    • Workplace inspections aimed at uncovering latent risks that have the potential to cause harm and liability to you.
  • Review of your workplace health and safety practices against approved Codes of Practice.

DBell Consulting is also accredited by the Western Australian Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) to undertake WorkSafe Plan Assessments, which can be used to rate safety and health management systems.
